Terms and Conditions

Sanglap: Journal of Literary and Cultural Inquiry (ISSN 2349-8064) is an international, open-access, peer-reviewed journal. It publishes two issues each year in March and September. Below are the terms and conditions of the journal:

  • Authors: Authors should make themselves aware of the terms and conditions of the journal well before making submissions. For more than one authors, correspondence will be made with the submitting author. Authors should confirm that all co-authors have made significant contribution to the work. The journal actively discourages ‘ghost’ or ‘guest’ authors.

 

  • Focus: The journal publishes only theme-based issues. Please don’t send in general submissions that do not respond to the issue themes. Reviews, review articles, and interviews need not be theme specific.

 

  • Fees: The journal does not charge Article Processing Charges. Nor does it pay any remuneration or royalty to contributors/reviewers. Contributors are expected to do rigorous copy-editing and proof-reading of their works.

 

  • Submission Format: The journal accepts only email submissions. All other forms of submissions -postal or website log-in are actively discouraged.

 

  • Submission Guideline: The journal follows an in-house submission style. A detailed format style-guide has been uploaded on the Submissions page. Please prepare your work closely following the format. A submission that does not follow the format will not be considered for publication.

 

  • Single Submission: When under review, authors will not send their work for consideration in another journal or volume.

 

  • Peer-review: All work in the journal is peer-reviewed. Authors are obliged to participate in the peer-review process.

 

  • Plagiarism: Authors are hereby informed that the journal takes plagiarism issues very seriously and has issues a detailed Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement. The journal also has clear polices and steps against plagiarism and misconduct.

 

 

  • Copyright: Authors give an exclusive, all-language-use right to the journal to publish their work and to reproduce, reprint, and distribute their work in all formats.

 

  • Reprint: Authors can reprint their work and reproduce them in any format. All copyright remains with authors. They will have to acknowledge the work’s original publication in Sanglap.

 

  • Copyright Violation: Authors will need to acknowledge sources and obtain permission for images, data, and sources where necessary. Authors are solely responsible to obtain all necessary permission before publication of their work, and the journal will not be held responsible for copyright infringement.

 

  • Conflict of Interest: Editors and reviewers are made aware of conflict of interest issues routinely. Authors are encouraged to disclose any conflict of interest at the time of submission.

 

  • Defamation: The journal promotes diversity and inclusivity in work and actively discourages any defamatory and discriminatory language or data in submissions.

 

  • Archive: Sanglap uses SHERPA/RoMEO to archive work. Authors are encouraged to archive their work in institutional repositories. It’s a RoMEO Blue journal which means it allows only post-publication pdf to be archived in institutional repositories.

 

  • Decisions: All decisions of the Board regarding acceptance/rejection of work are final. Authors should understand that these terms and conditions are subject to change.
